  • The Toni & BJ Rodgers Foundation is a private, family foundation that supports charitable work by making grants to nonprofit organizations. We do not operate programs or provide direct services. Our mission is carried out by funding organizations whose work advances opportunity, creativity, and wellbeing in communities.

  • We primarily support organizations working in

    • African-American advancement and leadership

    • Arts and cultural expression

    • Youth development

    • Education and opportunity

    Most of our funding is directed toward organizations in the Denver area, with occasional grants to national organizations whose work aligns closely with our mission.

  • The foundation is overseen by the Rodgers family with the support of their financial advisors at Morgan Stanley in order to ensure thoughtful and effective philanthropy.

  • The foundation operates on an invitation and research-based grant-making model. We proactively identify organizations that align with our mission and values.

    We do not have an open grant application process at this time, but may do so in the future.

  • As a private family foundation, we are funded by the founding family and investment assets. While the foundation is legally able to receive contributions, we do not actively solicit donations from the public.

    Individuals who are interested in supporting the types of work we fund are encouraged to give directly to the nonprofit organizations themselves.

  • Private foundations are designed to distribute funds to charitable organizations rather than raise funds from the public. Our focus is on thoughtful, strategic grantmaking to support the work of existing nonprofits.
